Astronomy Day

Throughout the Museum

Whether the light you see in the night sky is from a star that is still "out there" or the remnants of one that ceased to exist thousands – or even millions! – of years ago, astronomy gives us a chance to view the history of the universe.

Join us for Astronomy Day as we celebrate this international event with an afternoon dedicated to exploring our night sky. Discover more about our Sun, Moon, and stars, talk to experienced astronomers, and enjoy safe solar observing opportunities. Astronomy demonstrations and planetarium shows will be available throughout the day.

View our daily calendar for program times.

*Note: This year's Astronomy Day will take place during our GeekFest: Family Day, so we do anticipate high attendance. Astronomy Day activities will take place in the Hall of the Universe.
