Tuesday from 5:00pm - 7:00pm
NEW for 2019 - The Boonshoft Museum will open for extended hours on Tuesdays this June, July, and August! Take advantage of the long summer days -- and slightly-more-flexible bedtimes -- to join us each Tuesday evening for specially-themed science programs at 6:00 p.m. The doors will stay open until 7:00 p.m., and the Museum will be ready for explorers of all ages!
• Monday, Wednesday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Tuesday 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
• Sunday 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Join us for a special astronomy program at 6:00! The Perseid meteor shower peaks on August 13th, but you can still see meteors blaze across the sky in our planetarium. This show will discuss how our knowledge of comets, asteroids, and meteors has changed in our own lifetimes due to space missions and telescopes.
For each month, these Tuesday evening programs will feature themes that revolve around summer science:
|Tuesday, July 2||Collections: Ancient Egypt|
|Tuesday, July 9||Education: Native Blooms and Bees|
|Tuesday, July 16||Astronomy: Moons|
|Tuesday, July 23||Discovery Zoo: Sloth Program|
|Tuesday, July 30||SunWatch: Topic TBD|
|Tuesday, August 6||Collections: American Plains|
|Tuesday, August 13||Education: Ice Art|
|Tuesday, August 20||Astronomy: Things that Go Bump in the Night!|
|Tuesday, August 27||Discovery Zoo: Topic TBD|
All special programs will take place at 6:00 p.m. Activities are included with regular admission; free for members.
