World Turtle Day

Discovery Zoo

Celebrate some of our most unique animal friends at World Turtle Day. These slow, wrinkled, oddly-shaped reptiles with hard shells – that they can hide in! – are amazing creatures that have been on Earth for 200 million years. Unfortunately, these animals are also at high risk of becoming endangered due to habitat destruction and encroachment, food manufacturers, and smuggling.

Learn more through animal talks at 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., when you meet some of our resident turtles and tortoises! Craft projects will also be available, while supplies last.
