Teen Volunteers

Current Volunteer Opportunities for Teens

Online TEEN applications are now open.

For our high school students we offer a teen program geared toward presenting young volunteers a different perspective of our museum.  Teens work within the education department to learn and develop skills as they lead daily public programs and act as friendly Wayfinders for our museum visitors. There will also be opportunities for volunteers to meet and learn about our amazing astronomy and animals department. Let’s explore how we do all these educational and fun programs!

Throughout the year, teens may be scheduled for 3 hours on Saturdays or Sundays based on both their availability and the availability of staff and other volunteers. Scheduling during the holidays and breaks will be discussed with the Volunteer Coordinator on a case by case basis. For more details on scheduling, duties, and qualifications, please click the Teen Volunteer link in the application.

Summer Education Program:

  • During the months of June and July, Education and Teen volunteers work as a team to take the lead on presenting select public programs and Wayfinding in the museum.
  • New and returning volunteers during the summer must attend a required summer training class to prepare. Training dates to be announced.
